Albrighton Fayre - Saturday 14 July 2012

The Fayre Committee are pleased to announce that the theme for this years Fayre is Carnival and we hope that as many local groups and individuals from the Village enter the Walking Parade with really colourful and exciting costumes.

The timings for Fayre Day are as follows :

10am     Road Closes to allow stall holders to set up in a safe environment.
11am     Stalls open for business.
11.30am Parade participants arrive at St Joseph’s Church car park. 
11.45am Parade Judging and prize giving.  Group Prizes are 1st - £100, 2nd - £75 and 3rd - £50 and £10 each for Best Boy and Girl.
12 noon Walking Parade starts and finishes at the Meadow Road.
1-3 pm  Street Entertainment commence in the High Street with fire eater, Carnival Girls Stilt Walker, Dippy the Clown.
4pm      Stalls finish trading and road re-opens to traffic.

New this year – Steel Band and Carnival Buskers.

Shop Window Display Competition – which will be judged on Fayre Day, but hopefully the Shops will start dressing their windows in the run up to Fayre Day.

Children’s’ Competition - entry forms available from the Post Office from Monday 9 July 2012.   Shops will be displaying a poster so you know which shops are taking part and you are to try to find the item which they don’t sell.  For example a shoe would be the ‘Odd Item’ in a Butchers window).  Entry is free and the winner receives £10.

Every year the costs to fund the Albrighton Fayre rise and the Committee would like to make it bigger and better.  So please show your appreciation and give generously to the collectors in the Walking Parade.
