Bikers ride out for local charities

27th March 2012

Bikers ride out for local charities With the warm sunny weather look set to continue into the weekend, bikers from across the West Midlands are invited to join in a mass motorcycle ride in support for two local charities - the Midlands Air Ambulance and Royal Air Force Museum. With hundreds of bikers already registered, organisers are expecting thousands will show their support on the day and join in the fun.

Starting at Meole Brace Park & Ride in Shrewsbury, the ‘Bike 4 Life Easter Run’ will take place on Sunday 1st April.  Bikers are invited to gather from 10am where they will be able to grab a nice warm coffee and a bacon bap and speak with the Shropshire Road Safety team and West Midlands Ambulance who will be at Shrewsbury with their display units.

Also showing their support for the event is Channels 5’s Emergency Bikers who will be leading the ride from Shrewsbury to the Museum.  Meet with these frontline heroes of the West Midlands Ambulance Service and learn how these biker paramedics help save lives on a daily basis.

The ride out will start at 11.30am and travel on mass along the M54 motorway to the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, where there will entertainment for all the family including a rock band, food stalls and the opportunity to sit inside a replica Air Ambulance cockpit.

Registration costs just £5 per person with all proceeds from the event going towards the running costs of each charity.  Midlands Air Ambulance needs £6million every year to operate and receives no government or national lottery funding. The RAF Museum Cosford proudly hosts a world class collection and funds raised will go towards the upkeep of the exhibits.
